The SCIMAKER Dual-Mode Snap-Off Utility Knife, 18mm is a snap-off utility knife for packing, shipping, and everyday warehouse work: lock the blade for long cuts or hold a button for a blade that retracts on release, with an 18 mm (0.71 in) high-carbon steel blade.
Two Cutting Modes in One Handle
Lock Mode
Push the slider forward and the blade locks in place for long, continuous cuts. Slide it back by hand when the job is done.
Auto-Retract Mode
Press and hold the separate button to extend the blade. Let go and a spring pulls the blade back into the handle.
Use Lock Mode for a long cut down a cardboard seam and Auto-Retract Mode for quick passes across packing tape, without changing tools.
What the 18 mm Blade Is For
The 18 mm blade suits cardboard boxes, shipping cartons, shrink wrap, and tape in stockrooms, packing stations, and warehouses. When the edge dulls, snap off the used segment to expose a fresh one.
Trimming paper, film, vinyl, or crafts? Choose the 9 mm Dual-Mode Snap-Off Utility Knife.
Built for Daily Cutting
An internal metal rail guides the blade during the cut. The rigid ABS body has black TPR rubber grip zones, the layout works in either hand, and no batteries are needed. The handle stores up to 2 spare blades.

FAQ
What is the difference between Lock Mode and Auto-Retract Mode?
Lock Mode holds the blade out until you slide it back. Auto-Retract Mode extends the blade only while you hold the button and pulls it back when you let go.
Should I choose 18 mm or 9 mm?
Choose 18 mm for boxes, cartons, shrink wrap, and tape. For paper, film, vinyl, thin cardstock, and crafts, choose the 9 mm knife.
What refill blades does it take?
Standard 18 mm snap-off blades.
Can left-handed users use it?
Yes. The layout is ambidextrous, so the same knife works in either hand.
Does it need batteries?
No. Both modes are manual; the auto-retract action uses a spring.
